  1. What is mSpy for computers?

    mSpy for computers is a software application designed to inconspicuously monitor your employees or underage children on a computer that you own or have proper consent to monitor. It is your responsibility to notify users of the device that they will be monitored.

  2. How does it work?

    The application needs to be installed on the computer you wish to monitor in order to access monitored data.

    To install software, you’ll need 5-10 minutes of unrestricted physical access to the user device (you need to be on the computer you want to monitor). Once it’s been installed, you will not need to access the monitored device again. Simply view the captured data remotely by logging into your personal online account

  3. Is it legal to use mSpy?

    It is absolutely legal to use this software:

    1. As a parental control solution for monitoring your underage children.
    2. As an employee tracking solution for monitoring company-owned computers used by employees who are aware of the monitoring.

    It is your responsibility to determine whether you have proper authorization to monitor a given device. It is also your responsibility to determine which disclosures, notifications, or agreements may be necessary in your jurisdiction, as applied to the specific facts and circumstances in which you want to use mSpy.   4. Which computer operating systems does mSpy run on?

    Currently, our monitoring software runs on Windows and Mac Operating Systems, namely:

    • Windows XP x32; Windows Vista x32, x64; Windows 7 x32, x64; Windows 8 (without Metro apps)
    • Mac OS 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9

  5. Which features are offered?

    Presently, the following features are available with mSpy Desktop: Application Activity, Keylogger, User Activity, Screenshots, Device Management.

  6. Does mSpy work on tablets?

    Yes, you can track a tablet using mSpy as long as its operating system is supported by our software.* To monitor a tablet please review the page: mSpy for phones.

    *The mSpy software will not work on iPads without jailbreaking the device first. By stating this, mSpy is not recommending you jailbreak your device; we are merely letting you know that jailbreaking is necessary if you wish to use the mSpy software. The process of jailbreaking iPads is not supported by Apple, and may void your warranty. Choosing to jailbreak your your Ipad for any reason, including to install the mSpy software, is done at your own risk.

  7. Does mSpy work discreetly on a monitored computer?

    mSpy works in a discreet mode and doesn’t distract the user with pop-ups, sounds or notifications. mSpy uses an internet connection to transfer the information to your account. mSpy folder is shown on the drive and in the Process List (in x64) on Windows OS and in the Activity Monitor on Mac OS.

    There is no need to manually request the update of information - everything is transferred automatically to your personal control panel. mSpy uses your internet connection to transfer the information to your account.

  8. How to activate mSpy?

    mSpy activates once you restart the monitored computer after installation. The computer must be connected to the Internet to display captured data.

  9. Where can I check the captured data?

    You can check tracked data from your personal account any time, day or night using any internet-enabled device. The information from the monitored computer will be automatically uploaded to your personal account every update interval.

  10. What happens when a new mSpy version is released?

    Once a new version of mSpy is released, it will automatically be updated on the monitored device. The changes will be applied as soon as the monitored computer is restarted.

  11. What payment methods are available for purchasing mSpy?

    With a single mSpy subscription, you have access to monitoring software for one computer only. In case you wish to monitor multiple devices, you will need to purchase a separate subscription for each additional computer.

  13. How many computer users can I monitor with mSpy?

    You can monitor the activity of all users on a monitored computer.

  14. Does mSpy capture screenshots?

    Yes, with mSpy you have the ability to capture screenshots at adjustable intervals.

  15. How can I uninstall mSpy from the monitored computer?

    mSpy can be uninstalled from a monitored device by following instruction details in your personal Control Panel.

  16. How can I get a refund if I am not happy with mSpy?

    If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase of mSpy software, you may be eligible for a full refund within 10 days subject to mSpy’s Refund Policy. However, before you consider requesting a refund, you are encouraged to speak with our customer support team to resolve any existing issues you may have.

  17. What if I find a bug in the software?

    We love to receive feedback from our customers. In the instance that you’ve encountered a bug in mSpy’s software, please notify us immediately in order that we may resolve the issue.

  18. Can I transfer the software to another computer?

    Yes, you can install mSpy onto any other computer at no additional cost if you no longer need to monitor the current device. You must uninstall the software from the original monitored device before installing mSpy on another computer or tablet.
